Acer explores portable workspaces with ePaper and a folding triple display

Acer has announced two different approaches to working away from a permanent desk: the EP130K ePaper monitor and the PD163QP3 portable triple display.

  • EP130K: ePaper with touch and stylus input.
  • PD163QP3: three 15.6-inch Full HD IPS displays.

The EP130K combines a paper-like surface with touch and stylus support. Its bistable display can retain an image without continuous power, making static documents and annotation a different use case from conventional video-focused monitors.

The PD163QP3 instead folds three 15.6-inch Full HD IPS panels into one portable arrangement. Clone and extended modes allow different layouts; alongside a laptop screen, the setup can provide four viewing areas. Acer specifies USB-C connectivity and a separate power adapter.
