  • Field trial during Noto disaster-recovery work
  • Synchronised stereo images over 600+ kilometres
  • Company-reported comparison with 2D viewing

The system transmitted synchronised stereo images to give the operator a sense of depth while handling machinery remotely. EIZO says this allowed work from a single 3D view instead of relying on several conventional camera angles.

According to the companies’ field test, operators loaded collapsed soil from a fixed position faster with enhanced-depth 3D imaging than with the compared 2D setup. The announcement provides no numerical improvement figure or independent replication. EIZO’s Streaming Gateway handled the long-distance image transmission.
