LG Display demonstrates a 27-inch 5K OLED panel

A 220-ppi RGB-stripe panel joins the company’s wider SID Display Week presentation of next-generation OLED technologies.

The 27-inch prototype targets finer detail with 5K resolution and a revised RGB-stripe structure. LG Display says the design improves the aperture ratio and reduces colour fringing. The announcement does not specify this panel’s refresh rate, retail availability or finished monitor models.

The same exhibition also covers gaming OLED sizes, third-generation Tandem OLED for automotive applications and a 16-inch laptop panel. These belong to different product categories: automotive brightness and lifetime figures in the release should not be transferred to the 5K monitor panel.
