Philips announced the display on 29 January, highlighting a shortcut that switches between HD at 1000 Hz and QHD at 540 Hz. These are two distinct operating modes: the announcement does not promise QHD at 1000 Hz.

The specification includes DisplayPort 2.1 at 80 Gbps, HDMI 2.1 at 48 Gbps and VESA DisplayHDR 400 certification. Philips quotes 96% DCI-P3 coverage and 500-nit peak brightness. Its 0.3 ms Smart MBR figure describes a motion-blur-reduction metric and should not be read as a measured input-lag result.
