  • Technology: low-reflection film for QD-OLED.
  • Reported change: 20% lower reflectance versus the previous film.
  • Reported surface hardness: 3H.

The company reports 20% lower reflectance than its previous film and a surface-hardness improvement from 2H to 3H in its internal testing. These are manufacturer comparisons; the hardness rating does not mean the surface is scratchproof.

Samsung planned to apply QuantumBlack to its new QD-OLED monitor products in 2026. It also identifies different names used by monitor partners, including ASUS BlackShield, Gigabyte Obsidian Shield and MSI DarkArmor. Buyers may therefore encounter the underlying surface technology under several labels.
