ViewSonic CDEG3 removes onboard apps from meeting-room displays

The commercial 4K series uses an external computer or media player, giving IT teams an alternative to maintaining applications inside each screen.

  • This is a July 2026 product announcement, not a new launch today.

In its 21 July announcement, ViewSonic introduced six sizes from 43 to 98 inches. The company specifies 500-nit brightness, continuous 24/7 operation and cold startup in under eight seconds.

The OS-free design has no preinstalled apps or facility to install them. Content instead comes from a connected laptop, mini-PC or player. This reduces one software layer to maintain, but it does not make connected equipment or AV control networks automatically secure.

ViewSonic lists a verified Q-SYS library integration and compatibility with Crestron, Extron and AMX control systems. Its series page also supports portrait and landscape installation, allowing the same family to serve meeting rooms and information displays.
